Sweeten your Kroger shopping: Coupons in packages!!

Today is the last day for the Digital Promo, and Banquet meals for .88c are part of the deal.
(Head over here for the coupon matchups!)
Many of the Banquet meals I picked up had "Save $6 on great brands" promo on the box. I opened one of the boxes and found the following coupons:

.35c/1 Banquet Brown N' Serve (This will triple to $1.05, and these often go on sale for $1!)
.35c/1 Banquet Select Recipes
.75c/1 Banquet boneless chicken bag
.60c/6 Banquet pot pies
$1/2 Act II popcorn packages
$1/2 Chef boyardee
.20c/1 Hunt's ketchup
.75c/1 Slim Jim canister
$1/2 Crunch n' Munch

All of these don't expire until 2/1/11! And this was just from one box!
So remember if you are looking into buying Banquets, look for the $6 coupons on the inside!!

I went shopping today at Kroger and found tons of tearpads all over the store with awesome high value coupons, so be on the lookout for these:

Save $1 on any one Red Baron By the Slice Product
(These are usually around $3, so with a good sale these could be close to free!)

Save $2 on one bag of new Lays potato chips wyb any two bags of Lays
(pair this with two $1/1 lays coupons from 3/14 SS and score $4 off 3 bags!! Chips are easily on sale at $2 each!!)

Save $1 on any 2 packages of Kelloggs Special K bars

Save .75c on any one box of Uncle Ben's Whole Grain White Rice
(These were on sale at $1.99)

Save $1.50 off any 2 Mission products
(They sell tortillas that often go on sale for $1 each, and chips/salsas)

Save $3 off any Finish Quantumatic detergent dispenser system
These are regularly $9.99, marked down to $6.99, so $3.99 after coupon!

Save $2/2 Keebler Town House crackers peelies

Looking forward to next weeks Kroger deals!

I cannot match deals up for you until tomorrow (That's when the Dallas area receives the new weekly ad, which starts on Wednesdays) BUT from what I'm seeing we should have some good deals coming our way at Kroger this week!

If you win any of the hit the hoops prizes (especially the $5 instant credit) you might want to hold off on using it for a couple more days!!

UPDATE: Kroger's Hit the Hoops winning errors

Over the past week, I've been loving the Kroger's Hit the Hoops game that you can play once a day to win all sorts of free food items, and $5 instant savings! The best part is they load to your card, so once you win and click 'claim' you are good to go!

I won $5 instant savings, and was thrilled! Then I won it AGAIN...but when I tried to claim it, I got and error message and in linked me to putting in a ticket to customer service.
Well they finally emailed me back with this response:

Thank you for contacting the March to Savings Help Center.
Your second prize has now been uploaded to your account.  The coupon that
has been uploaded is the following:  $5 off your next shopping trip at
Kroger

Please note this coupon will not be visible in your account but will work
at the store.
Once a participant has won two Instant Win prizes, no further Instant Win
prizes will be awarded to that participant. However, additional log ins
will result in additional Sweepstakes Grand Prizes drawing entries. (Per
official rules.)

So to clear things up, you can win twice, but the second one will have to be done through customer service it seems, which I'm assuming is only if the second prize is the same as the first.

Have you played Hit the Hoops yet? If so, brag your winnings below!

Saved 103% at Kroger??!

It's true I did. And it makes me laugh a little.

4 Betty Crocker Fruit snacks @ $1.79
-use 2 .50c/2 printables (double to $1/2)
-.50c/2 cellfire
-.50c/2 shortcuts
total: $4.16 wyb 4, or $1.04 per box
*get $2.50 onyp wyb 4*
like getting them for .42c a box!

1 Fiber One Chewy Bars @ $2.29
-use .40c/1 printable here or here (double to .80c/1)
-use .40c/1 cellfire
total: $1.09

1 Chex Mix Bars @ $2.29
-use .50c/1 from 2/07 insert (double to $1/1)
total: $1.29

1 Chex Mix @ $1.50
-use .50c/1 printable (double to $1/1)
-use .50c/1 shortcuts
total: FREE!

1 Mission Tortilla @ $1.59
total: $1.59

Now here's the confusing part. I knew I had $5 instant savings (from the Kroger game) and a $3 catalina I needed to use by tomorrow.
I figured I would be spending maybe .50c afterwards, because of taxes, but I get so confused on how taxes work after coupons are put in (in Texas, I think we don't pay the tax, and most states you still do?)
Anyways, I noticed the total right before the cashier rang out my $3 catalina was $2.73! I tried to tell him to wait or if he could adjust it, but he scanned it and .27c was up on the total to be credited to me.
Oddly enough, a manager came over, typed something in and smiled at me as she handed me .27c...weird right? I couldn't really say much considering she was the manager- if it was the cashier I wouldn't want them getting in trouble for giving me money back because I'm pretty sure that wasn't right!

So not only did they give me .27c back, but I got a $2.50 catalina!

Tell me your weirdest check out story! I'm so interested!!

Kroger Hit the Hoops Sweeps UPDATE

Ok so as you may know, I told you I received $5 instant savings from the sweeps as my prize!! Whats even better is that it automatically loads to your Kroger card!

Now here's the downside...
Yesterday I also won $5 AGAIN!! I was on cloud 9 thinking how I have racked up $10 of FREE money to spend on whatever I want without having to figure out a scenario and yadda yadda....ANYWAYS, when I clicked it to claim it said to contact customer service. I found this odd...until tonight I finally dug a little deeper...

It loads to your card in the same place that your other kroger eCoupons load...so it would be safe to assume you cannot have two of the same coupon on there? which means either
1. I need to go spend the $5 so I can have more added later or
2. I need to stop getting my hopes up winning instant money and not being able to actually use it

My point really is (its 2am, forgive me) I don't want you to end up winning doubles of something and being terribly disappointed as I was. This sweeps goes on for another month and you can enter everyday, so my hopes and dreams of building $5 instant savings for like 10 times has been crushed-(but boy wouldn't that be a steal!)

I'm going to bed now, but just figured I'd give you a heads up!
And remember tomorrow is my FIRST giveaway, so keep your eyes peeled!!!

**oh my- I hate to say it, but right after I posted this I couldn't resist and curiosity got the best of me. I clicked to play the sweeps and received ANOTHER $5 off! aaaahhh!!! I could have $15 to spend! And I would say its just repeating my offer until I use it, but I DID lose in between one of the three, so there are all NEW winnings!!**

Kroger Deals Update

I went to Kroger with my formulated list to buy prevacid, excedrin, 4 boxes of cereal, 2 gallons of milk, tortillas, and All detergent all for only $4 OOP and my plan failed.miserably.

The downside to gaining tips from bloggers outside of your region is that the deals may be slightly different and although that may not seem like a big deal, it makes a huge difference at checkout!

So, if you live in the NE Texas area, here is the run-down on changes for our ad if you were going to buy anything on the list above:

UPDATE: Pert Plus 3-in-1 for men OVERAGE @ Kroger!

UPDATE: This Sundays SS insert will have $1.50/1 on PertPlus for Men's, so pay $1.00, get $2.50 back!! $1.50 moneymaker!

I went to Kroger today and saw Pert Plus on sale for $2.49. What's better is, as you can see, they had TRY ME FREE stickers on them. The sticker had Pert's website on it, which makes me assume that you just go there and print off a form like many other rebates do,
