I went to Kroger with my formulated list to buy prevacid, excedrin, 4 boxes of cereal, 2 gallons of milk, tortillas, and All detergent all for only $4 OOP and my plan failed.miserably.
The downside to gaining tips from bloggers outside of your region is that the deals may be slightly different and although that may not seem like a big deal, it makes a huge difference at checkout!
So, if you live in the NE Texas area, here is the run-down on changes for our ad if you were going to buy anything on the list above:
-Buy 4 Kelloggs cereal (ones marked 4/$10) get 2 gallons of milk FREE
This works like a charm, and the icing on the cake was the $3 CAT that prints off afterwards along with using $1/2 blinkies that are nicely located in the isle for you.
I was worried about the catalina, but it printed!
total cost: $8 oop for 4 cereals and 2 milks + $3 catalina oynp
-Prevacid on sale for $9.99, use $6 eCoupon + $6 printable totaling $2 overage.
False. Such a sad day. The prevacid rang up its normal price of $12.09. If you truly need this item it IS an awesome price at only .09c, but I was expecting overage towards the rest of my purchase & this would just be donated.
-Excedrin, use the FREE bottle coupon(mailer) + $2 eCoupon and receive $2 overage.
False. The Excedrin for the eCoupon must be 100ct. or 80ct. express gels. Those bad boys cost around $10-$12 depending on which 'symptom' you want it to relieve. The FREE bottle coupon is only up to $6 worth of Excedrin, making this around $3 to buy.
Once again, if you need this, you are cutting your cost down by around 70%, but I am well stocked from the Wags deal this week, and will wait to use the coupon.
-All detergent $2.49-$2.99 on sale, use $1.00 off eCoupon + $1.00 off from 2/07 insert for a total of .49c-.99c for a 50 oz. detergent.
False. Ours is $3.49 on sale, and the coupon will work, but my eCoupon was NOT showing up. If you really need detergent, $2.49 isn't too bad, but it hurts a little when you think it will be .49c! ;)
-Mission tortillas on sale for $1.00
This is valid- I reported this when looking at our weekly ad, so I figured I wouldn't have issues with it.
I hope this helps you if you were excited about these offers and wanting to make a trip out solely for them. There's nothing worse than wrong prices and out of stock items!
